What’s normal, what’s not? Floaters

Tiny black dots, shadows, spots or strands that you see in front of your eyes. Everyone gets them, but often we don’t even notice. Normally, they’re harmless specks of dust and debris caught in the jelly-like stuff that fills your eyeballs. But see an optician if you suddenly get more of them, or you get white flashes. It could be a sign of a detached retina.
